Mental Health

Mental Health is just as important as physical health and treating those with mental health problems is as critical as those with injuries or physical illnesses. These problems can affect anyone and range from diseases like Alzheimer's to conditions such as Schizophrenia and depression. Who you are and what your background can have an effect as well with those from poorer backgrounds being more susceptible to certain mental health conditions than others. Other studies have even shown a gender divide with more women suffering from issues of anxiety than men.

At some point in life around a quarter of people will have some kind of mental health condition ranging eating disorders in young age to dementia in old age. There is also a variety of ways in which they might develop and this might again depend on your background and circumstances. Statistically there are certain types of people, situations and groups that might develop certain conditions over other. What is important is that those who do suffer do not do so alone. There is some stigma attached to these conditions, which results in many people being embarrassed to come forward.
